staying sane, while staying home
What day is it? Honestly, I've lost track, weekends and weekdays are all the same. I get the feeling in my head too often "I can't do this anymore." But I remind myself that by staying home, we can make this end sooner, rather than later.
To all the healthcare, warehouse, post office, grocery, and delivery workers, as well as teachers and parents... you make the world go round, and we can't thank you enough. We will get through this, and in the meantime, I will try to find joy in the little things. Eventually, life will return to normal and I'll miss aspects of this quarantine life.
I will now forever treasure hand sanitizer, toilet paper, workout classes, bars and restaurants, and of course, human interaction. Below you'll find a few things that are keeping me sane during this crazy time. Let me know what's bringing you a spark of joy.
Wine, lots of wine
Bagel, every morning
Skincare is essential, especially in quarantine. Due to stress, my eczema flared up again and a few cystic acne made a reappearance. Lucky me. These products have been lifesaving:
- Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Acid Serum, pricey but worth every penny
- Dr. Barbara Sturm Eye Cream, hydrating enough for day and night
- The Ordinary Rose Hip Oil, I layer this on top of my serum, moisturizer and eye cream
- Chantecaille Jasmine Lily Healing Mask, brightening and calming, my all time favorite face mask
- Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm, I love my Laniege Sleeping Lip Mask but lately I keep gravitating toward this one. It's moisturizing and yummy with a hint of vanilla
Lia Bartha will make your body shake like crazy!
Her pilate-like classes are a half hour to an hour, you can find her class almost daily via Instagram Live. If you want to feel toned, definitely check it out. You'll see and feel the difference after one class.
Currently reading Maybe I Should Talk to A Someone. In times like this, I find comfort in slowing down with a cup of coffee and diving into another world through books.
Be warned, Monopoly Deal is very addicting. My boyfriend and I have been loving it. We're so competitive that we keep score on a sheet of paper, and we've played 60+ rounds. Not to brag, but I'm currently in the lead.
Family & Friends
Could not be more grateful for friends and family. I'd go crazy without them. Regular Facetime, daily texts and phone calls make a world of difference.
I've been listening to my body and treating myself to ice cream and wine every night. Fortunately, my boyfriend loves to cook, and he makes the most scrumptious meals. We'll be sharing some of our favorites recipes in the near future.
